2k540 AKI-OKA ARTISAN 2k540 AKI-OKA ARTISAN

50 craft workshops under the tracks between Akihabara and Okachimachi, since 2010

Opened in December 2010 by JR East Urban Development under the Yamanote/Keihin-Tōhoku line, the complex occupies the space under the tracks between Akihabara and Okachimachi stations, in Ueno, Taitō-ku. The name combines the railway distance marker for the spot (2k540) with the pun ‘Aki-Oka’ on the two stations at either end.
