Araha Beach 安良波公園
The sailing ship that serves as a play structure is the Indian Oak, wrecked here on 14 August 1840.
A 3.7-hectare park on the Chatan seafront, with an artificial beach. The spot where the Indian Oak ran aground, a cultural property of the municipality, lies a little over a kilometre west of the mouth of the Hiruhi River; the 1984 underwater survey recovered copper sheets and nails, porcelain and bottles. Fifteen minutes' walk from American Village.
