Okazaki Castle (岡崎城) 岡崎城

Tokugawa Ieyasu was born here in 1542; the present tower is a 1959 rebuild.

The park that now surrounds the castle also houses the Tokugawa Ieyasu-kan museum, devoted to the life of the founder of the shogunate, and it remains the starting point of every local account of the three great unifiers born in Aichi.
