Futenma-gū and its cave 普天満宮

Under the shrine lies a two-hundred-and-eighty-metre cave: ask at the counter.

It is one of the eight historic shrines of the Ryūkyū, the largest in the centre of the island. The cave beneath the grounds has yielded finds dating back about three thousand years, to the second half of the Early Kaizuka period, and it has been a cultural property of the municipality of Ginowan, as a place of note, since 1 August 1991.
