Kyū-Iwasaki-tei Garden 旧岩崎邸庭園

1896 villa of Iwasaki Hisaya (Mitsubishi), no photos inside at weekends.

The residence was built in 1896 for Iwasaki Hisaya, eldest son of the Mitsubishi founder Iwasaki Yatarō and third president of the group, to a design by the English architect Josiah Conder, the same architect as the Rokumeikan. Of the more than twenty original buildings, three remain: the Western-style house, the billiard room (connected to the house by an underground tunnel) and a hall of the Japanese section.
