Higashiyama Yūhodō (東山遊歩道) 東山遊歩道

The feudal lord Kanamori modelled it on Kyoto: its 4 km pass more than ten temples and shrines.

It is a public path, not a single temple: it runs through the Higashiyama Teramachi district, which came into being with the founding of the castle town in the late sixteenth century and has remained the religious centre of Takayama. It continues towards the Takayama Castle park.
