Kagurazaka 神楽坂

There are hardly any geisha left, but the stone alleys they walked are still there.

The Tokyo tourism board writes that the neighbourhood ‘flourished as a place where geisha were active’ (「芸者たちが活躍する街として栄え」) and still keeps ‘traces of the Edo period’ in its stone alleys. ⚠️ The number of teahouses or geisha still active today is not given.
