Kamafuta Shrine (釜蓋神社) 釜蓋神社

You walk ten metres with a pot lid on your head: if it does not fall, it brings good luck.

A small shrine dedicated to Susanoo and to Ukemochi, goddess of food, in the municipality of Minamikyūshū (Ei district, merged into the city in 2007). It owes its recent fame to the balanced-lid rite, which went viral as a good-luck charm for sport.
