Open since 1928, it opens at 8:00 and closes when it has finished: twenty-three farms take turns.
Founded in 1928 on the model of European open-air markets, it was one of the first of its kind in Japan; in 1957 it moved from Wakamiya-ōji to the current shed. The member farms sell directly, with no middlemen.
