Kiyamachi-dori 木屋町通

In 1611 a canal brought timber from Osaka: a hundred boats travelled up it every day.

The street runs parallel to the Kamo River, one block to the west, between the Sanjō and Shijō neighbourhoods, right in the centre of Kyoto.
