Kurashiki Golden Yokochō クラシキゴールデン横丁

A ’40s alley that had dwindled to two venues, remade in 2013 with fifteen signs going up together.

The alley, opened in the early ’40s under the name San'yō Tsuru Yokochō, had got down to just two active shops before three local business owners formed a committee to revive the Inari-chō neighbourhood. On 25 July 2013 the alley reopened with fifteen venues launched on the same day, recreating the atmosphere of an after-work haunt of the Shōwa years.
