The Eye of Shinjuku (新宿の目) 新宿の目

It is the background of Aoi Todo's shot in the first season's opening sequence.

An eye-shaped acrylic sculpture, three metres by ten, made in 1969 by Yoshiko Miyashita in the underground plaza at Shinjuku's west exit. The Shinjuku Subaru Building that housed it was demolished in 2019, but the work has stayed where it was.
