Mori Art Museum 森美術館
On the 53rd floor of Mori Tower: no permanent collection, open until 22:00.
The museum opened on 18 October 2003 in Mori Tower at Roppongi Hills, about 230 metres up: it is the highest exhibition space in Japan inside a building. The space was designed by the American architect Richard Gluckman, who had already designed the Whitney Museum in New York; the founder Mori Minoru wanted a museum at the top of the tower instead of the usual offices, to make culture the symbol of the complex. An official notice announces a closure for works from 24 September 2027, with reopening expected at the end of April 2028.
