Edo-Tokyo Museum 江戸東京博物館
400 years of Edo and Tokyo history at full scale: reopened in 2026 after 4 years of works.
The museum opened in March 1993 and in 2022–2026 underwent the first major renovation of its thirty years: an upgrade of the building services, the interior and exterior finishes and the large overhanging roof, reopening on 31 March 2026. The general layout follows the previous one, with some updated models (the Hattori clock in place of the Chōya newspaper); several reviews from people who knew the museum before the works note that the change is less noticeable than expected.
