A museum devoted to the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and its consequences, in the Peace Memorial Park. Opened on 24 August 1955 as the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Hall, it was built with state funds under the law for the construction of Hiroshima as a peace memorial city. It was renovated in two stages: the east building in April 2017, the main building in April 2019.
