In 1993 it was the first stadium in Japan with a retractable roof: it closes in 20 minutes.

Opened on 2 April 1993 in Momochi, it was built with a retractable roof designed to protect the field from rain and wind in every season. Since 2023 the opening of Es Con Field Hokkaido has taken away its status as the only stadium in Japan with a retractable roof: it remains the southernmost of the two.
