Nerima Ward (練馬区) 練馬区
Nerima is the stated setting: the manga has Ranma and his father come back from China to 東京都練馬区 itself. There is no specific model, though: the sources agree that the drawings ‘show landscapes reminiscent of the Ōizumi area’, the north-west corner of the ward around Ōizumi-gakuen Station, without a school, a street or a dojo ever having been identified. The Tendō dojo and Fūrinkan High School remain fictional places: the ‘models’ circulating online (Keisen University in Tama, the Manganji footbridge in Hino) are filming locations of the 2011 live-action TV film, not drawn settings.
Residential suburb in north-west Tokyo.

Urusei Yatsura
Nerima is also the implicit setting of Urusei Yatsura: Rumiko Takahashi lived there for almost thirty years. Here too there is no specific model: what remains is the Ōizumi area, in the north-west corner of the ward.
