A town under the direct rule of the shogunate: 10.7 hectares protected since 10 December 2004.

Hita's historic district, with wooden houses from the Edo period and about a hundred shops. It is a public street.

It is one of the three areas into which the ‘Shingeki no Hita’ project divides the pilgrimage, together with the centre around the station and the Ōyama area, where the dam with the statues is. The link is with the author's home town rather than with a specific scene.
