Ōsu district (大須商店街) 大須商店街

It began in 1612, when Ieyasu moved a temple here from Gifu: today about 1,200 shops.

The district is also home to Manshō-ji, a temple founded by Oda Nobunaga's father as the burial place of the Oda clan and moved here in 1610. In August, October and February the district hosts, respectively, the Ōsu Summer Festival, the daidō-chōnin parade and the Setsubun procession.
