Luffy Statue (麦わらの一味像) — Kumamoto 麦わらの一味像
One of the 10 bronze statues of the Straw Hat crew installed across Kumamoto Prefecture between 2018 and 2022, as part of the ‘ONE PIECE Kumamoto Fukkou Project’, the official reconstruction after the 2016 earthquake, linked to Eiichiro Oda, who is from Kumamoto. This is the Luffy statue, the first in the project: installed in November 2018 on the promenade of the prefectural government building, in Suizenji, to celebrate the citizens' honour award conferred on Oda. It is 174 cm tall and has its right fist raised.
Next to the statue, on the same promenade, there is a special manhole cover featuring Luffy.
