In the Ageuma Shinji a horse climbs a two-metre wall: a rite since 1338, revived in 1601.

Tado Shrine, at the foot of the mountain of the same name, is dedicated to Amenohohi no Mikoto, son of Amaterasu, and is the leading Shinto shrine in northern Mie.
