Tokyo Sea Life Park 葛西臨海水族園
A 700-yen aquarium, tuna in a doughnut-shaped tank: it will close by 2028 for the move.
A public aquarium inside Kasai Rinkai Park, opened in 1989 to a design by the architect Taniguchi Yoshio (the same architect as the park's nearby ‘Crystal View’) and run by the Tokyo Zoological Park Society. Since 2025 the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Construction has been building the new aquarium next door, with opening planned for September 2028 (令和10年9月): the historic building will be kept after the new one opens, with a dedicated project for the glass dome, but the animals will only be moved once the works are finished, and the closing date of the old building has not yet been set.
