Historical Village of Hokkaido 北海道開拓の村

52 historic buildings on 54 hectares; a horse-drawn tram still runs along 516 metres of track.

Opened in 1983, the village brings together in one place buildings that would otherwise be scattered or lost across the rest of Hokkaido, to show how people lived in the decades when the island was colonised. It is the open-air museum with the largest number of authentic historic buildings in Hokkaido.
