Wajima Kōbō Nagaya (lacquer workshops) 輪島工房長屋
Only partly reopened since 2024; here you can try lacquer inlay for 2,000 yen.
A facility that brings together under one roof the workshops of several Wajima lacquer (輪島塗) craftsmen, a technique protected as a national traditional craft, to show the public the whole production chain, otherwise scattered across separate workshops in the city. The Noto Peninsula earthquake of 1 January 2024 hit Wajima and its lacquer workshops hard; like other sites in the city, the facility remains partially operating while the recovery continues.
