Yūrakuchō Gaado-shita (有楽町ガード下) 有楽町ガード下

The Shin Hi no Moto grew out of a dormitory for repatriated soldiers after the war.

Under the brick arches of the JR line, between Yūrakuchō and Shinbashi stations, dozens of izakaya with tiny interiors are crowded together: Shōwa-period signs and posters, outdoor tables against the pillars, yakitori smoke. Several places date back more than 70 years and started during the post-war reconstruction.
