The Way of the Househusband

It is the only place from this series that the manga actually draws, and the author says so. おおのこうすけ lived in Yakura, in Kusatsu, from childhood until the first term of the third year of elementary school, and uses the shopping centre and the arcades around the station as backgrounds: ‘if there's something that matches a background in the manga I go and photograph it; the arcades in front of Kusatsu Station I draw as backgrounds’. On 18 October 2022 the municipality named him ‘Kusatsu Booster’, and between 28 January and 12 February 2023 the A・Square, which is drawn in the manga, hosted an exhibition of eighty reproductions of the pages.
