It is the stated model for UTX, the elite school of their rivals A-RISE. The big screen at the second-floor entrance, the one you see as you come out of the Denkigai gate, is where Honoka watches A-RISE perform in the first episode and decides to start a school idol group. Within 500 m are the district's other backgrounds: Fujisoft Akiba Plaza and Akihabara Daibiru (episode 1), the site of the Radio Kaikan (episode 6), Sofmap 1, the tonkatsu restaurant Fuki (in the series ‘Fuki’ is written with different characters), Belle Salle Akihabara and Daikokuya (episode 9).

The first event battle of ‘Ordinal Scale’: Kirito and Asuna arrive by motorbike along Chūō-dōri and get off onto the pavement beside the main Sofmap, the 21:00 countdown appears on the UDX big screen and Klein arrives with the Fūrinkazan from Akiba Tashiro-dōri. Yuna stands at the foot of the Akiba Bridge, the walkway between UDX and the Denkigai exit. After the fight the group sits in the small square in front of the exit, around the tree closest to UDX, about 230 m away. It was the author Reki Kawahara who chose this spot for the first battle, as director Ito has recounted: it is the usual venue of the ‘Dengeki Bunko Aki no Saiten’.
