The keep is from 1931, paid for by the city's residents: the third after the Toyotomi and Tokugawa keeps.
You climb up inside the keep to the eighth floor, where the museum shop is; below are the rooms on Hideyoshi, and on the second floor you can try on warrior helmets. Since 2025 the same ticket also gets you into the Toyotomi Ishigaki-kan, the stone wall from the Toyotomi period.
The keep you see today is the third generation, after those of the Toyotomi and the Tokugawa: it was rebuilt in 1931 with donations from the citizens of Osaka, and in 1997 it became a national Registered Tangible Cultural Property.
ℹ️ Open 9:00–18:00, last entry at 17:30; closed from 28 December to 1 January. Tickets 1,200 yen for adults, 600 for high school and university students with ID, free up to junior high. The price went up on 1 April 2025, when it began to include the Toyotomi Ishigaki-kan as well.
