Built and first assembled in China: yellow tiles, the colour of the emperors.
Built as a symbol of the friendship between Tottori and the Chinese province of Hebei, it reproduces the style of Chinese imperial gardens over 10,000 m²: the design, the materials and a first trial construction were all done in China, then dismantled and reassembled on site by Chinese technicians. The roofs carry yellow glazed tiles, the colour that in China was reserved for the emperor, and the buildings have over 2,000 painted decorations. A Chinese acrobatics show is held every day, and a cruise of about 45 minutes sails on the adjacent Lake Tōgo.
Chinese garden in the municipality of Yurihama, on the shore of Lake Tōgo, among the largest in Japan in the ‘imperial garden’ style (皇家園林).
