a 12-metre Godzilla head on the building, roar and lights every hour until 20:00
The Godzilla head, about 12 metres tall, juts out from the eighth floor of the Shinjuku Tōhō Building on Godzilla Street, in Kabukichō. Every hour, from 12:00 to 20:00, it lights up with glowing eyes and a roar; it can be seen free from the street at any time. The terrace that once allowed a close-up view (Godzilla Terrace) was closed at the time of checking (26/09/2026).
It is called ‘Godzilla Road’ because of the monster's head sticking out from the roof of the Tōhō building.

Kabukichō as seen on Kirito's motorbike ride in ‘Ordinal Scale’: the street that points straight at the Tōhō building, framed from Yasukuni-dōri, and the small square in front of the building, recognisable by the Krispy Kreme sign. The Kabukichō crossing also appears in the same sequence.
