The river is free all year round: you pay only for parking, 1,000–1,500¥ a day.
The Iruma River slows into a wide bend right by the centre of Hannō, with a riverbed you can reach in 15 minutes on foot from the station. By the red Wareiwa Bridge the water is shallow and suitable even for small children; the rest of the riverbed, with its bars and equipment hire, remains the town's meeting place for barbecues and water games at weekends in summer. Open fires directly on the sand are prohibited (grills only), and in case of flooding the riverbed must be evacuated immediately.

ℹ️ Free, open access all day, with no booking, for walking, fishing and playing in the water. Parking at nearby facilities (e.g. Naguri Kawatei, Kugi-an) costs 1,000–1,500¥ a day. Rubbish and used charcoal must be taken away.
