Free observation deck open 24 hours, views over the runways; on clear days you can see the Skytree

On the fifth floor of Terminal 3, the deck stays open day and night, all year round: from here you can watch take-offs and landings up close, and with the right wind you can smell the kerosene, according to reviews. On clear days you can make out Tokyo Tower and the Skytree in the distance. The best view is outdoors, not from the indoor benches behind glass.

The deck is on top of Terminal 3, which opened on 21 October 2010 as Haneda's international terminal (then ‘Haneda Kūkō Kokusaisen Terminal’) and was renamed ‘Terminal 3’ on 14 March 2020. It is one of the airport's two free observation decks, with no booking needed: it is used both by people in transit and by those who come specially to watch the planes.

ℹ️ Open 24 hours a day, every day; free entry, no ticket (tokyo-haneda.com). It may close for bad weather or safety reasons, and periodically for brief technical checks at night (latest case published: 15/09/2026, 00:00–04:00): a recurring notice on the official website, not a sign of structural problems. It is reached from ‘Haneda Airport Terminal 3’ station on Keikyū and the monorail, inside the same building.
