Pink phlox over 10 hectares of hillside: you only pay to enter during the bloom.
A hill of 100,000 square metres is covered in pink phlox (shibazakura) from mid to late May, when there is a charge to enter the area. The festival runs from 3 to 31 May, with go-karts, a fishing pond and an observation deck on the hill.
The park, in the town of Ozora (Okhotsk region, far from Sapporo), is one of the largest phlox fields in Japan, run by a dedicated company (東藻琴芝桜公園管理公社). Paid entry applies only when the bloom reaches at least 30% (三分咲き): for the rest of the year the area remains a public park with only its service facilities.
ℹ️ Open 9:00–17:00, with no closing days during the festival (3–31 May). Ticket (only during the bloom): adults 700 yen (600 for groups of 10+), elementary school children 300 yen (250 for groups of 10+). Tel. 0152-66-3111.
