At the foundry where iron teapots have been made since 1902, admission to the museum is free.
On the grounds of the Iwachū factory, a maker of Nanbu ironware (南部鉄器) since 1902, the adjoining museum lets you see the stages of the work up close: from the clay mould to the casting, through to the coating of the tetsubin and frying pans that leave the plant. The guided tour of the workshop must be booked the day before.
