The only Frank Lloyd Wright building in Tokyo open to visitors: an Important Cultural Property since 1997.
The American architect Frank Lloyd Wright designed it in 1921 for a girls' school: low classrooms, horizontal lines, no ostentation. His Japanese pupil Endō Arata oversaw the building work on site. Today the building is open to visitors and the tea room is still in use, under the same low ceilings.
