A 375 m arcade since 1938, 177 shops: food-walking with fritters and sweets in Kita-ku.
Under the roof that keeps off the rain, you walk and eat: fried food, sweets, takoyaki and other takeaway specialities are sold all along the way, in shops that still serve the neighbourhood more than tourists. On weekend afternoons it gets so crowded that one review advises going early in the morning to be able to walk without getting held up.
A covered shopping arcade in Kita Ward, opened by local traders in 1938 as ‘東京十條銀座商店街商業組合’ and now run by the 十条銀座商店街振興組合. It is 375 metres long according to Wikipedia, with 177 shops listed on the committee's official website. Over the years some long-standing shops have closed (a fishmonger's, according to a 2021 review) while others have taken their place.
ℹ️ Public street, free entry, open at any hour; the hours of individual shops vary. The committee office (十条銀座商店街振興組合) can be reached 9:30–18:00, closed on Tuesdays. Crowded on weekend afternoons.
