You go up to the eighth floor and come down in a spiral around a tank nine metres deep.

The route runs the opposite way to what you expect: escalators up to the eighth floor, and then you come down circling the central tank, so you see the same piece of ocean first from above and then lower and lower. The Pacific tank is thirty-four metres long and nine deep, and the whale sharks live in it.

Aquarium opened in 1990 at the port of Osaka, in Tempōzan village. The route follows a circuit of the Pacific, from the cold northern seas to the tropics.

ℹ️ The adult ticket, from age 16, costs 2,400 yen. Five minutes on foot from Ōsakakō Station on the metro Chūō Line. Check the opening hours on the official website before your visit.
