A village onsen an hour by bus from Musashi-Itsukaichi, closed only on Mondays.
The bus from Musashi-Itsukaichi ends its run in front of the entrance, after an hour through the bends of the Aki valley. Inside, the outdoor barrel bath (壺湯) and the sauna sit alongside the indoor bath, and after bathing the restaurant serves soba with local maitake mushrooms. It is the westernmost point of Tokyo reachable by scheduled bus.
The public hot-spring complex of the village of Hinohara, the only municipality in Tokyo that is neither a city nor a district (mura). The spring is simple alkaline, with an indoor bath, an outdoor bath and a sauna; the in-house restaurant offers local dishes, including soba with maitake mushrooms. It is the terminus of the bus from Musashi-Itsukaichi, the last station on the JR Itsukaichi Line, about an hour's journey: the westernmost point of Tokyo reachable by regular scheduled transport.
ℹ️ Open all year, 10:00–19:00 (last entry an hour before); closed on Mondays (if a public holiday, the following day). The municipality's official site does not publish the price on the opening-hours page; a Jalan review gives 1,100 yen for an adult (2026). Access: Nishi Tokyo Bus (route 五10, bound for 数馬/Kazuma) from JR Musashi-Itsukaichi Station (terminus of the JR Itsukaichi Line), about an hour, 1,120 yen; get off at the ‘温泉センター’ bus stop. Free car park on site.
