Ōi Racecourse Flea Market

大井競馬場フリーマーケット

Open on the mapwith over 1,800 wonders of Japan

Up to 700 stalls in the racecourse car park, not every weekend: check beforehand

On Saturday and Sunday mornings, when it is on the calendar, the No. 1 car park of Ōi Racecourse fills with stalls of clothes, furniture and Shōwa-era items, up to 700 sellers. Buyers arrive early and dig through the boxes to find the good piece. It is not held every weekend: the calendar skips about one date in two, with no fixed rule.

The second-hand market known as Tokyo City Flea Market is held in the No. 1 car park of Ōi Racecourse, on the Shinagawa waterfront, and is among the largest in the city by number of stalls. It is not, strictly speaking, an event of the racecourse operator: it uses the car park on weekends when the races do not occupy it, and for this reason the calendar is not regular. International reviews describe it as ‘one of the largest flea markets in Japan’, with goods mainly from the Shōwa period (1926–1989): kimono, vintage toys, books, ceramics, furniture.

ℹ️ Typically open Saturday and Sunday 9:00–14:30/15:00 (sellers set up from 7:00), free entry. ⚠️ It is not held every weekend: the calendar (published only in Japanese on marketdays.jp) skips about one weekend in two with no fixed rule; for example, in October 2026 it is on the 3rd, 17th, 18th, 24th, 25th and 31st, not the 4th, 10th and 11th. It must be checked a few days before you set off, not taken for granted. Paid car park (1,000 yen flat rate, from one review). Cash only, according to several sellers.
