400 m, 70.6 m high: it was the longest pedestrian bridge in Japan, from 2015 to 2025.
A suspension bridge 400 metres long, 70.6 metres above a wooded valley on the western slopes of Hakone: from halfway across you can see Fuji and Suruga Bay together. The complex also has a zip line; check its features and availability on the official site.
Opened on 14 December 2015 under the official name ‘Hakone Seiroku · Mishima Ōtsuribashi’ (箱根西麓・三島大吊橋), the bridge was built as the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in Japan, surpassing the 390 metres of the Kokonoe ‘Yume’ Ōtsuribashi (Ōita). ⚠️ The record fell in March 2025: the GODA Bridge, opened in Dam Park Ibakita in Ibaraki (Osaka), measures 420 metres and overtook it. Mishima Skywalk is now the second-longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the country, no longer the first.
