Reopened in 2024 with 1.5 times the space: Mizuki's years as a soldier are there too.
At the end of Mizuki Shigeru Road, the museum retraces the manga artist's life through original drawings, personal belongings and multimedia rooms, including a section devoted to his military service in New Guinea during the war, where he lost an arm. A room that changes every six months displays original artwork that the old building could not show.
Opened in 2003 and completely rebuilt, reopening in April 2024, the museum is devoted to Mizuki Shigeru (1922–2015), born and raised in Sakaiminato, author of GeGeGe no Kitarō.
ℹ️ Open every day 9:30–17:00 (last entry 16:30). Ticket 1,000 yen, free for pre-school children.
