From 593 m up on Mount Ege you can see Hiroshima Bay: you can drive all the way to the summit.
The mountain road is narrow as it climbs, with stretches where two cars cannot pass each other, and ends in a free car park with fifteen spaces right on the summit plaza. From there the view opens onto Hiroshima Bay and its islands, without a single step to climb.
Mount Ege, 593 metres, is the highest point in Aki Ward. At the summit the municipality has set up a panoramic plaza with a viewpoint and a rest area, reachable by car along a narrow mountain road; the car park at the top has fifteen free spaces. From the plaza you can see Hiroshima Bay with its islands and the city centre.
ℹ️ You can drive up to the summit car park: free, fifteen spaces (‘駐車料金 無料’, ‘収容台数 15台’, from an aggregator specialising in car parks for hikers, not from the municipality's page); the road has stretches where two cars cannot pass each other. No gate hours stated on the municipality's page: it is a public outdoor area. There does not appear to be convenient access on foot from public transport: the nearest bus stop, 絵下山入口, is about 42 minutes' walk uphill.
