Thirty-two workshops and one hundred and one experiences, almost all of them with no booking needed.

It began as the outdoor set of an NHK historical drama and has kept its streets: it is a fake village where the work, however, is real. Blown glass takes five to ten minutes, a glass bead less, a tin sanshin an hour, and at the end you try playing it. ⚠️ Much of the ground is unpaved: in the rain it turns to mud, and the covered arcade is only at the entrance.

A workshop park of fifteen thousand tsubo in Yomitan, built as the set for the NHK taiga drama ‘Ryūkyū no kaze’, broadcast in the first half of 1993 and set around the subjugation of the kingdom by Satsuma in 1609. It reopened to the public as Murasaki Mura in August 1999.

ℹ️ Open 9:00–17:30 all year; last entry and last sign-ups for workshops at 17:00. One thousand yen for adults, five hundred for junior high and high school, four hundred for elementary school, free for preschool children. Workshops are paid for separately, from about 1,200 yen upwards. Two hundred free parking spaces. One hour by car from Naha. Wheelchair loan to be checked on site: the ground is limestone and cobbles.
