Almost a hundred vintage cars, a '67 Toyota 2000GT, and two thousand collectable teddy bears.
Opened in 1994, it is the most visited private museum in Japan according to its own figures (about 400,000 visitors a year). Its rooms bring together almost a hundred vintage cars (among them a 1967 Toyota 2000GT), twenty-seven classic Minis, two thousand collectable teddy bears from all over the world (some more than a hundred years old), toys and dolls from the Edo period to the post-war years, and even wartime tanks, inside a reconstruction of a Japanese street from the '50s.
A private museum with a retro-Shōwa theme, in the town of Yoshioka, not in Ikaho, even though the name recalls the nearby hot-spring town.
ℹ️ Opening hours and ticket prices may vary with the season: roughly 8:30–17:00 or 18:00, with adult tickets around 1,000–1,300 yen. Check the official site before setting out.
