Tezuka lived here from the age of 5 to 24: the entrance hall is the royal palace of his Princess Sapphire.
You enter through a regal-style atrium that reproduces the palace of Princess Sapphire (Ribbon no Kishi), the heroine of one of Tezuka Osamu's manga. The city museum is in Takarazuka because the author lived there from the age of five to twenty-four. Among the rooms are permanent exhibitions and interactive experiences in making animation. It is closed every Monday, the adult ticket is 700 yen, and last entry is at 16:30.
Municipal museum dedicated to Osamu Tezuka in Takarazuka, the city where he grew up: an entrance hall themed on ‘La principessa Zaffiro’, a permanent gallery with forty display capsules inspired by Fenice, a library where you can read his manga freely, the Atom Vision room and an animation workshop. It is the permanent pilgrimage site most closely linked to PLUTO, which rewrites Tezuka's ‘Il robot più forte del mondo’ under the supervision of Makoto Tezuka: the exhibition devoted to PLUTO was also held here in 2023–2024, but it was temporary; the permanent collection covers the author's entire body of work.
