The Fuji Rock stage has been here since 1999, on the slope that has a 900 m vertical drop in winter.
Opened on 23 December 1961 as Naeba International Ski Resort, it has a vertical drop of about 900 metres (from 900 to 1,789 m). Since 1999 it has been the stage of the Fuji Rock Festival, which every July turns the ski slopes into a field for a hundred thousand people. In 2002 it was linked to neighbouring Kagura by the Dragondola, then the longest gondola in the world (5,481 metres).
A ski area of the Prince Hotels group in Yuzawa, one of the largest and best known in Japan, with its own hotels and lifts.
ℹ️ Ski season roughly from December to May; lift prices and hours vary from season to season, so check the official site (princehotels.co.jp/ski/naeba) before setting off. The Fuji Rock Festival (July) brings crowds and traffic completely different from those of winter.
