Namba Parks (なんばパークス)

Roof garden from the 2nd to the 9th floor: 11,500 m², among the 10 most beautiful rooftops in the world.

Built on the site of the former Osaka Stadium baseball ground (demolished in 1998, home of the Nankai Hawks), the complex was designed by the American architect Jon Jerde (the same architect as Roppongi Hills in Tokyo and Canal City Hakata in Fukuoka) and opened in two phases, on 7 October 2003 and 19 April 2007. Its heart is the Canyon Court on the 2nd floor, inspired by the Grand Canyon; above it rises the Parks Garden, a roof park of 11,500 m² with about 500 species and 100,000 plants from the 2nd to the 9th floor, certified as an ‘urban oasis’ by SEGES in 2014 and as CASBEE Real Estate rank S in 2023.

Namba Parks is a shopping, dining and entertainment complex in Namba, on the site of the former Osaka Stadium. The project incorporates a multi-level roof garden spread over eight floors, described as one of the largest rooftop parks in Japan.

ℹ️ Opening hours vary from shop to shop (roughly 11:00–21:00 for shopping, longer for restaurants); the Parks Garden is freely accessible during the centre's opening hours. Direct access from Namba Station on the Nankai Line.
