On the beach stands the Ryūjū: two dragons 15 metres tall, erected in 2011 for Fuzhou.
It is the only beach in the city of Naha, ten minutes from the airport and a short walk from Naminoue Shrine, at the top of the cliff above it. Divided into two stretches (Wakasa, the wider one, and Tsuji, shallower and suitable for children), in 2023 it received the top AA rating for water quality. On the sand, the pair of dragons of the Ryūjū commemorates the twinning with the Chinese city of Fuzhou.
An artificial beach created around 1991 on the Naha seafront, at the foot of the cliff on which Naminoue-gū stands. It is run by the municipality of Naha and is the only stretch of sea open for swimming within the city limits.
