Eight hundred metres of cave at eleven degrees, the same all year round, inside Tokyo.
You walk for eight hundred metres inside the rock, and the temperature stays 「年間を通じて…11℃と一定」: a constant eleven degrees, which in summer means cold and in winter mild. It is the same Tokyo as the Shibuya Crossing, an hour and a half further out.
It lies in the Nippara valley, above Okutama, at the western tip of the prefecture.
ℹ️ 9:00–17:00, in some periods until 16:30. Nine hundred yen, ⚠️ and you pay in cash. From Okutama Station, JR Ōme Line, by bus and then about half an hour on foot. ⚠️ Bring something to put on: eleven degrees in July is not much.
