315 steps in 1576, to care for the wounded of Nagashino; in 2010 they became 365.
The staircase dates from 1576, when Takeda Katsuyori, through Sanada Masayuki, had 315 steps built among the inns of the hot spring town for the wounded of the Battle of Nagashino. In 2010 they became 365, one for each day of the year, in the hope that the town would prosper every day. At the top you reach Ikaho Shrine.

It is the model for the hot spring town in the twelfth episode: the roughly four hundred steps, lined on both sides by inns, souvenir shops and restaurants, are reproduced precisely, together with the shrine area at the top. A scout has tracked them down one by one: the entrance 石段街口 with an almost identical tourist map (only the mountain that stands behind it in the anime is missing), the alley beside 茶房てまり/てんてまり, the manjū shop つたや物産店, the なつかし屋本舗, the 岸権 辰の湯, the 田中屋 (the sweet shop where the suspicious tenant lives), the 大坂屋 shooting gallery and SARA'S terrace Arraiya. The sign seen on the left edge of one shot is that of 十一屋酒店, the only case where the place does not exist but the sign does. Around the shrine, however, the resemblance breaks down: the staircase that the anime puts there does not exist.
